Moving on up!
Calling all Community Groups, Voluntary sector Organisations and public service providers! Help us to find out more about Transience in Blackpool
Blackpool Council is looking at why people move to and around Blackpool. Transient people can find it difficult to access help, advice and public services in times of need, so we want to collect information that helps us to build a picture of transience in Blackpool. Please help us by telling us about your organisation’s experiences.
The information you provide will help us to explain the community's needs and help us to understand what the main challenges are, so that we can focus on them effectively.
Please take the time to complete the online questionnaire, it should take you about 20 minutes. All responses will be anonymous.

Migration Impact Fund: Help us to Manage the Impact of Migration Key outcomes
As well as bringing many benefits, migration can bring short term pressures on local public services. We are looking for innovative ways of managing these pressures and addressing such transitional impacts.
We want to develop a number of small projects which will add value to existing work and result in better outcomes for Migrants and local communities in Blackpool.
We aim to:
- Create opportunities to engage with migrant communities/Individuals: There is currently limited engagement activity due to language and cultural barriers. These opportunities will increase migrant communities’ ability to influence decisions in the areas they live.
- Support vulnerable migrants: helping them to overcome social exclusion, access employment, education and training, combat discrimination and access appropriate and timely health care.
- Empower migrant communities: to help themselves.
- Enhance community cohesion: This is the idea that diverse societies work best when they have a sense of social solidarity and mutual responsibility (basically, people value and respect eachother regardless of background), and that individuals benefit from a feeling of belonging (citizenship) and fuller involvement in community and civic activity.
- Provide long-term sustainable solutions: which would be relatively inexpensive beyond initial statr-up costs.

In all cases partnership working with the community needs to be clearly demonstrated. There are no lower thresholds for funding individual projects. However, Blackpool Strategic Partnership is happy to consider large projects (up to £6,000) as well as looking to support a number of projects with an average of £1,000 to £2,000.
