Charter
Blackpool Strategic Partnership is committed to delivering the ambitions of the Sustainable Community Strategy "Your Blackpool, Your Future". We will do this by working together to make sure that our ambitions become a reality.
The Vision
"Our Aspiration is for Blackpool to have a propserous, vibrant, high quality, all year round economy; generating healthier, better skilled and educated communities, enjoying a safer and more pleasant place.
A place where children and young people are proud to grow up; where people aspire to live, play, work and establish business in; a place that brings prosperity to all local citizens and contributes to the long-term sustainable growth of the North West economy; a place that the UK is proud to proclaim as a great, high quality, culturally-rich resort destination."
The purpose of the Sustainable Community Strategy is to:
-
Set out shared plans for the future and an action plan for the partnership's work.
-
Encourage all partner organisations to bring their own strategies and plans into line.
-
Enable each partner to make better use of their resources, money and staff, available jointly to tackle key issues which affect the Quality of Life of our Communities.
-
Show each partner's commitment to working together for the benefit of our residents and visitors.
We will achieve this by creating a culture where:
- The four goals of the Sustainable Community Strategy are at the heart of our activity, and we are mindful of our responsibilities to the people of Blackpool.
- We use different ways of communicating with people so that they are well informed and involved.
- We work openly, with accountability and transparency at the core, ensuring all those involved feel valued and respected.
- We celebrate the range of skills, experiences and views within our partnership and recognise that all contributions add value to our work.
- We encourage frank and honest discussions, where partners feel they can contribute and their views are heard, respected and appreciated. Being mindful of the roles, responsibilities, challenges and opportunities that other organisations face.
The Partnership is supported by robust Terms of Reference and governance arrangements that have been developed to protect the integrity of the partnership and ensure that it is effective. |
